Physics
Instructor: Mr. Radoi
Welcome to The Physics is Phun website!

I am trying to provide you with information about what we are doing here on a week-by-week basis.

If nothing else, at least a few links will open up new venues into your future.

Physics is a one year-long science course that will provide an in-depth study of mechanics, optics, electromagnetism, and atomic physics. This course will concentrate on the major concepts of physics in order to develop an intuitive understanding of the physical world. The course fulfills the UC and Cal State requirement for a physical lab science.

The course will utilize Conceptual Physics by Paul G. Hewitt. The course emphasizes laboratory experience and practical uses of physics. This course will use a calculator-based approach to problem solving and experiments correlated to the course of study. The prerequisite for this course is satisfactory completion of Plane Geometry and Algebra II. Current enrollment in a higher math is recommended.

Bad science joke
A physicist, biologist, and chemist went to the ocean for the first time. The physicist saw the ocean and was fascinated by the waves. He said he wanted to do some research on the fluid dynamics of the waves and walked into the ocean. He was drowned and never returned. The biologist said he wanted to do research on the flora and fauna inside the ocean and walked into the ocean. He too, never returned. The chemist waited for a long time. Then he wrote his the observations: "The physicist and the biologist are soluble in ocean water".

(written by a chemist - biased)

Solar Boat Challenge 2009 - Yucaipa
Redlands East Valley High School's Engineering Club has participated in the 2009 Solar Boat Challenge held at Yucaipa Regional Park over the May 8-10 weekend. The team performed very well in the sprint event (1st place), endurance event (2nd place), but only ranked third overall.
Congratulations Engineering Club!
